Paso Fair Trip

The annual Heritage bus trip to the MidState Fair in Paso Robles is set for Monday, July 27. Save the date. More details to come soon.
 

New Website

It’s an idea that’s been bandied about for a while, but the questions was what and who would do it. The “what” is how to get information to our membership in a nanosecond if need be. How to preview and postview our great newsletter. How to remind people about upcoming events and fun times. That’s the what. The “who” turned out to be none other than Ryan Casey, up-and-coming fourth generation Casey Printing communication guy (son of Rich and Sharon), currently a student at Cal Poly, who is working on a prototype for a whiz bang Heritage Foundation web site and integrated communication system.

Member Parking at Golf Course

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! The reserved parking for Heritage Foundation members in the golf course infield seems to be a hit. Since most Heritage members spend a lot of their time at the livestock barns or in the Heritage room, it’s a natural fit.

Buyer Gift Cards

Junior livestock exhibitors usually show their appreciation by giving their buyers a gift. One of the best gifts is a Heritage Foundation Buyers Gift Card which is a donation by the exhibitor in the buyer’s name to the Heritage Foundation.

Heritage Hog

carolyn-andrus-heritage-hogWhen Carolyn Andrus’ animal goes through the auction ring at the fair, it will be the last hog because she is showing the Heritage Foundation animal this year. All proceeds from the buyer will be used to help pay for the $5 million barns, of which there is less than $700,000 remaining.

Carolyn was chosen from among seven applicants for the Heritage scholarship and is raising her hog for the Salinas Valley Fair. She is president of San Benancio 4-H and also president of the Salinas High School FFA chapter. She will be attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in the fall.
